Girl power - Woman entrepreneur !!

You pass by her, she looks like any other girl next door - simple , grounded, family oriented and domesticated. She is a daughter , a wife , a mother , a daughter in law etc and in spite of all these multiple life roles she plays,  at the end of it she is an upcoming entrepreneur and a lady with a vision. As always one more feather to my cap of knowing yet another go getter, achiever and a dreamer. Who says if you are married, parenting and with in laws living in,  you need to get refrained to the 4 walls of your house. All those factors are just a part of a woman's life and not HER LIFE!. This lady clearly has broken down this stereotypical set up . She is a teacher and also a budding entrepreneur. What started off as catering to a family get together over snacks and tea has now turned into a growing food chain in the city of Chennai - "The Roll Spot". Moving from the home kitchen to a commercial kitchen and setting a footprint across the city with stand alone joints . Rashida Taher is the lady behind these mouth melting rolls. She runs and manages the entire kitchen all by herself and her husband supports her by overseeing the operations . They say behind every successful man is a women, I say behind every successful women is a man too. Apart from having dreams and desires ( my 2 favourite D's 😉) , what truly counts is the support, trust and encouragement that you get from your own people.
So last weekend I visited her kitchen, I was pleasantly surprised by how well and neat her kitchen is maintained. Everything is well organised, labelled , and structured. She has her own secrete recipes of the array of rolls she makes. I think her secrete ingredients are her love and passion 😉. Her roll fillings and roll parathas just melt in your mouth with every bite.(this is making me hungry 😋). Another good factor about her rolls is they are healthy. With more and more people getting health conscious, me being one of them i wouldn't blink an eye to gobble down her delicious rolls. She works tirelessly towards this. It's not just the quality and taste of her rolls , it's about the personal touch she puts in right from taking up your order till it's delivery. The way the rolls are made, packed and delivered all of it reflects her prim and proper personality trait. She also surprises her customers with a personalised hand written note. She caters to party orders, home deliveries etc else you can just show up at the Roll spot booth in the city. This lady with 2 jobs and a family has set an example for all of us . It takes two to tango and once again I will echo my own words that her family is her backbone and support system. When you meet her , you can see the nervousness, excitement and thirst to grow her business.
I am sure there are quite a few women out there like her, who are silently unfolding their dreams by starting their own little venture . With all the hard work and hope that it reaches out to more and more people. This is my way of saying " Well done" and "Thank you to all these women out there for all their grit , courage and never give up attitude. It's not just the women who sit in offices its also these women who sit in the vicinities of their own homes that make a difference 😊.

The Journey...!!! ❤

I have been procrastinating all this while and finally got back to my blog page . Must say it feels good. For me 2019 started on a muffled, confused and a busy note. When everyone was churning out resolution after resolution for the new start of the year, I was staring up in the sky wondering about all the confusion this year brought in for me. I was cloudy in my head and wasn't sure as to where life was heading - both professionally and personally.  But as they say patience and calmness eventually helps you pass through the shitty times and off course the people who love you help you through it.Well that always comes true for me. I am pretty sure it's just not me but for many of you out there who must have felt the same or have been through a similar concoction in their heads and hearts at some point of time and eventually sailed through it. So all this ranting that I have been doing is to circle around a small word with a big meaning called - JOURNEY !! I am going to write...
